Cloud Design
by: DS

Now I can really make the twisted images I see in clouds. Imagine explaining this idea to someone before you started building it.

Nike Football (Soccer) Commercial for Euro2008
by: DS

This is a great commercial. This is the shorter version, you can see the longer version below from the YouTube Nike Soccer site.

The commercial is directed by Guy Ritchie and the music is Eagles of Death Metal’s “Don’t Speak”.

Here is the longer version:

JC Penney Speed Dressing commercial
by: Sarah

Well, I thought this spot was pretty hilarious, but what is it teaching our youth about sex?  “Today’s the day to get away with it” is a tad out of line on the abstinence front, but makes the commercial way more hilarious.  Yeah, that’s right, I’m torn between “this commercial is hilarious” and “it’s way out of line.”  But let’s just say that it isn’t what I expected from a J.C. Penney commercial.

Geico’s worst caveman commercial
by: Sarah

This is possibly the worst Geico Caveman commercial, it has absolutely no direction or purpose.  I really would like to see this commercial gone.  The only reason why I posted it was to see if anyone agreed or disagreed with me, so whaddya think?

AT&T’s you’re a dillweed commercial
by: Sarah

AT&T always has pretty decent commercials, I especially like the father searching for his absent daughter at make-out point.  I love the irony of him “singing” Motorhead’s Ace of Spades while he misses the calls from his buddy trying to offer him Motorhead tickets, what a dillweed.  Not much else to say about this one really, so enjoy the spot I’m sure there will be others.

Reverse Graffiti Project by Paul “Moose” Curtis
by: Sarah

Doug Pray made a great video for the Paul Curtis Reverse Graffiti Project.  Green Works, the plant based cleaners, is who this graffiti advertising is promoting.  Paul Curtis is one interesting graffiti artist, he is armed with a power washer, not a can of spray paint and his canvas is a dirty surface that he sets out to make clean.  Just check out the process, it’s all pretty interesting in a green sort of way.

The Great Office War - Runawaybox
by: Sarah

This has been massive on the internet over the past couple of days.  Runawaybox is a couple of YouTubers who get together and do hilarious short videos.  Some you may have seen are Happy Mother’s Day MILFs, I Guess You’ll Do and “Ooh Girl!” - An Honest R&B Song.

Check out their YouTube portal for more of their shorts.  Also, I’m not saying you have to check this out, but it’s a good idea.  Here are more office shorts at Man in the Box.

Washington Lottery - Birds
by: DS

This is one of the best commercials this year.

The Washington Lottery commercials are really good and this one does not under deliver.

The concept and the execution are just perfect. “Who’s world would you change?”

Toyota’s iQ Microcar - Out Green Me Honda
by: DS

With gas prices breaking the $4 mark and in some places $4.50, a Microcar is exactly what we need. Many other counties have mini/macro-cars because gas and space.

The Smart Fortwo has been a bit-of-a-hit in the USA with the people that are willing to spend a ton on so very little so I hope that the Toyota’s iQ Microcar is going to be priced according to size. Below is a little segment about Toyota coming out to fight against Honda with 2 hybrids.

According to Technoride, the two vehicles will be allotted to the Toyota and Lexus brands respectively, and will add to the third generation Prius, due out next year. While little is known of the Lexus, the car maker’s head of r&d, Masatami Takimoto, emphasized that the new Toyota hybrid will not be just another iteration of the Prius. “It’s a totally new car,” he said, adding that it will be larger and will likely get a Li-ion pack by 2010.

In addition to new hybrids, the production version of Toyota’s iQ microcar is expected to hit showrooms later this year as well.

Popcorn popped by cellphone viral video
by: Sarah

The internet is going crazy over a viral video posted last week.  The video has no ties to any marketing groups, but it does a great job of getting itself out to all the YouTubers in the world.

Honestly, who looked at that video and believed that it was real?  Cellphones cannot pop corn, let’s just make that clear.  To further prove my point here is Jenna Wortham’s post over on the Underwire blog, Physicist Debunks Cellphone Popcorn Viral Video.

A hotplate underneath a makeshift table [like they have in the video] is the easiest way to get the kernels to pop.  Sorry for those who didn’t think logically on this… I know the crappy camera handling makes it seem more realistic, but you’ve been had.

Go buy some Jiffy Pop and pop corn over your stove top, it should excite you for a few minutes.
