No matter what you write or post, it can and often will be public. Just because it’s an email or a private post, doesn’t mean it is private. This story is proof of that, some screen captures and posting has made this a deep story full of backend jokes.
Here is an example of not understanding the tools you are using in the most embarrassing way.
I have always said, never write or post anything (pics/vids) that you are not willing to show your children, because they will see it some day. Never say “love cave”,that’s just nasty.

I have seen a huge spike in traffic to a story that is a personal one about me dealing with a botched surgery and the resulting medical solution that has caused many more problems.
The links are below dating back to 2004. I have had many online and phone conversations with the people that have left comments on DHADM.
As far as I can tell the device is being implanted more often and still not many places to get a true account of the procedure, benefits and ultimately if it’s worth it.

Found this on Yahoo Tech Blog:
Leave it to God to spoil the party: The Catholic churches of Scotland are speaking out against Twitter, Facebook, and other social networking technologies, which are being decried by the Church as creating an "obsessive" reliance in their users.
A message from Bishop Tartaglia, president of a Bishops’ Conference of Scotland communications group, has been sent to the 500 Catholic parishes of Scotland with instructions that it be read aloud at mass in every church.
Tartaglia writes that "we need to be wary of the inane chatter that can go on in the digital world which does nothing to promote growth in understanding and tolerance." In other words: Idle hands, when outfitted with a Twitter account, truly do perform the devil’s work.
As well, the letter naturally wonders about the safety of our children on social networking sites, worried that the minions of Satan may be on the other end of the virtual conversation.
This says it all.

You know it’s popular if the Pentagon is using it, time to try something else.
FORT MONROE, Va. – You don’t often hear a three-star general using the word "friend" as a verb.
But for Lt. Gen. Benjamin Freakley and other Army brass, a new era has brought a new language — and new tools like online social networks Twitter and Facebook — for seeking out young recruits and spreading the military’s message.
Freakley, who heads the Army command that oversees recruiting, says social networking sites offer another way to reach tomorrow’s soldiers.
"They live in the virtual world," Freakley said. He cited Facebook as a key component in targeting 18-to 24-year-olds. "You could friend your recruiter, and then he could talk to your friends."
Even Gen. Raymond Odierno, the top U.S. commander in Iraq, has a new Facebook page to answer questions about the mission in Iraq and spread the word about what the troops are accomplishing there.

Thanks for the link Whitney, I have some of the same feelings about Twitter.

Skittles candy has replaced their homepage with their Twitter feed.
I can see how this would be effective for other brands too, depending on the level of conceptual complexity that the brand needs to maintain.
Further, the resources being used will be redirected to the common people and social media networks that in some cases have proven to be far more effective than the company’s own. This results in more accurate and genuine sentiment in a more real time format.
Aside from a few issues with the interface, most people seem to think it’s a good idea!

First of all forgive my lack of posting (I’m in my own dark time right now). I had surgery on Monday but hope to be back at a regular schedule by next week. Here is the story that made me cry a little:
Obama might be keeping his BlackBerry, but his tech-savvy staffers are reportedly stunned by the West Wing’s painfully antiquated gear, not to mention a constricting, Web 2.0-stifling catalog of security and record-keeping regulations.
As this funny/sad story in the Washington Post reports, Obama’s team arrived at the White House Tuesday to find only a handful of laptops, old PCs running outdated software, disconnected phone lines, and a series of rules and regulations that essentially forbid anything resembling Gmail, Twitter, Facebook, or AIM….full story here on Yahoo .
