Kat was running all over trying to dig up talent for her new shop and trying to stay on top of that building out the place. Based on the intro for the show, we already know who is going to join so that part of the show (most of the episode) was more of an introduction to the talent.
Some amazing artists, don’t get me wrong, but the first episode of LA Ink didn’t make me want to tune next week. But I will.
I really think they should have phased in the intro to match the episodes. I get to see them build the shop but I already know what it looks like. I get to see Kat find talent…but I already know who is involved.
I hope it gets more interesting after each episode. Click here to watch the full episode: Season Premiere (you have to download the player).

I watched the first episode of LA Ink as well. I must say, I’m not incredibly inspired. I realize my comments won’t add up to much, but I sensed a certain fakeness to LA Ink. First of all, Kat Von D.(?) Come on…Use your real name. I think Ami James is the guy’s real name…The show seems somewhat manufactured, in the sense…all of a sudden Kat has the money to open a 2500 square foot tattoo shop just out of the money she saved fighting with Ami? I wish LA Ink all the best, but I won’t be tuning in.
