Olympic Commercial | Coke Unity with LeBron James and Yao Ming
by: Stuart

Here is another cool concept from Coke that is equally matched in message and style.

I like the animation style a lot in this commercial.

Olympic Commercial | Lenovo Recovery
by: Stuart

This is an ad that came on during the Olympics that I think is worth posting.

Lenovo has 3-4 commercials running during the Olympics that focus on a feature of the new computer without trying to explain everything that is new.

The Lenovo ThinkPad, better than a fruit basket.

Olympic Commercial | GE Ecomagination Dragon
by: Stuart

Another GE Ecomagination that aired during the Olympics.

It’s a good creative concept and the bio-gas technology using a dragon to heat water is clever.

The series of ads for GE Ecomagination have all been very solid commercials and the web site is pretty damn good also.

Olympic Commercials | Home Depot
by: Stuart

This is news to me, “The Home Depot is proud to employee more Olympic hopefuls than any other company in the world.”

It’s a solid commercial but doesn’t make me like Home Depot anymore than before.

I wonder if this from an internal poll with one of the questions:  Mark here [   ]  if you are an Olympic hopeful even if you have no chance.

I would imagine that if you have that many physically fit and mentally aware people working for you, one could help me find the damn light bulbs I needed.

Why didn’t all these hopefuls help me find what I need?

I do wish Home Depot was doing ads like this parody ad found on Transbuddha from 2005.

Olympic Commercials | Nike Courage
by: Stuart

As usual, Nike delivers another great commercial regardless of the group they are going after. We have posted many of them here on DHADM.

This one is a great mix of archival footage, triumph over expected defeat and a good music selection to tie it all together.

Olympic Commercials | Visa The Lopez Family
by: Stuart

Here is another commercial from Visa about the Lopez Family that are attending the Olympics as a team.

Again, like the previous post, the copy and voice over are dead on and the family is a great highlight for America.

Olympic Commercials | Visa Michael Phelps
by: Stuart

I have been watching what I can of the 2008 Summer Olympics and I must say that the swimming has been really exciting and the men’s relay last night was just unbelievable to watch.

Here is the Visa commercial for the Olympics that is focused on Michael Phelps. Morgan Freeman (who is one of my favorite actors and has been in the news a fair amount in recent weeks) is the VO. The visuals, the copy, the voice over all work together very well.

During the Olympics, some of the bigger brands are releasing some very good commercials, I will do my best to get them posted.
