Young At Heart, a chorus group of oldies singin’ the newage
by: Sarah

How hip are your grandparents?  Senior citizens with a beat in their heart sing on stage to crowded audiences in Europe, England and even Australia , but their home country, they are practically unheard of.  These Young at Heart senior citizens are out of their rockers are considered “rebels” and “wild ones,” for their musical choices.

Their movie is coming out this spring, itn made its debut last summer at the Los Angeles Film Festival.  Fox Searchlight, “the studio that brought groundbreaking comedies like Sideways, The Full Monty and Little Miss Sunshine,” snatched this music documentary up.

I love how the little old lady is reading the lyrics to a song with a magnifying glass.

This is awesome, and they talk about Russell Crowe’s Super Bowl ad as being inspiration… If I’m not dead by the time I’m in my 80’s, I would so be down for singin’ the current hits.  Let’s hear these oldies do some Soulja Boy or  T Pain’s Buy You A Drink.

Here is another video of them, it’s my fav. :)

When we’re 80 we’re definitely going to be in a band together. I’ll play bass and you play the drums since you’re the percussion expert.

  2. Percussion expert is what my shirt says.
    :D
